Jet Airways commenced operations in 1993 with a fleet of 4 Boeing 737 aircraft flying to 12 destinations in India. It now has a fleet of 29 Modern and Next Generation Boeing aircraft and 6 Modern Generation ATR 72-500 turbo prop aircraft. Today, Jet Airways operates over 225 flights daily to 44 destinations across India. It carries approximately 16,000 passengers per day. The average age of the aircraft fleet is 2.9 years, this making it one of the youngest fleets in South East Asia. Winners of several national and international awards Jet Airways was recently conferred with the prestigious market development award by ATW, an international magazine published in USA, for achieving world class standards.
